Honda two-wheelers appoints Tsutsumu Otani as president, CEO and MD

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the appointment of Tsutsumu Otani as the company's president, CEO and managing director with immediate effect. Previously, Otani was the vice president at Honda Motor Co. Japan.

Otani has succeeded Atsushi Ogata, who, after spearheading Honda’s Indian two-wheeler operations for three years, returns to Shanghai as the executive general manager at Shanghai Branch, Honda Motor (China) Investment.

Otani started his career with Honda Japan in 1997. His last designation was as the executive general manager, Shanghai Branch Honda Motor (China) Investment, which is Ogata’s current designation.

Alongside this, the company has also announced other changes in the Board of Directors. It has elevated Vinay Dhingra (earlier director – General & Corporate Affairs, Strategic Information System and Honda India Foundation, HMSI) to senior director – Human Resource & Administration, Corporate Affairs, Information Technology, and Honda India Foundation. Yogesh Mathur who was the operating officer - Sales and Marketing and Sanjeev Jain, operating officer - New Model Purchase & Parts Strategy, have now been elevated to the Board of Directors of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.

Yogesh Mathur has been appointed as the new director for Customer Service, Logistics Planning and Control, Premium Motorcycle Business along with Sales and Marketing. Further, Sanjeev Jain has been appointed as the new director for Purchase. He will be replacing V Sridhar who retired as the senior director purchase after completing over 23 years with HMSI.
