Renault Kwid FAQs
The additional body cladding, turn indicators in the ORVMs, dual-tone wheel covers and the contrasting black roof option are only available with the top-spec Climber trim. These make the Renault Kwid look more complete on the outside. The interior, with its chrome inserts and contrasting cabin trim, make for a better experience as well. The Climber also adds useful features such as rear power windows (along with those at the front), electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted controls, a manually dimming IRVM and a rear parcel shelf. Apart from these convenience-oriented items, the Climber trim of the Kwid also gets a reversing camera, 6 airbags (instead of just 2).
If your primary use case for the Renault Kwid revolves around tackling city traffic on a regular basis, then the AMT (automated manual transmission) option would be the ideal pick. This will be the more hassle-free gearbox for drives within the city.
Due to a lack of adequate headroom and legroom, the rear seats of the Renault Kwid are not ideal for six footers. The small fixed headrests at the back reduce both comfort and safety quotients, too. However, the front seats fare better.
The Renault Kwid’s boot is larger than the ones offered in the Maruti S-Presso and Maruti Alto K10, increasing its practicality as an urban hatchback.
The flip-up door handles, visible keyholes, and simple-looking tail lamps aren’t ultra-modern. Inside, there are loads of hard, scratchy plastic finished in grey on most surfaces. The lack of dedicated power window switches on the doors, an automatic AC and a full-colour digital driver’s display are some notable cost-cutting measures with the Renault Kwid.
While Renault is yet to disclose the claimed mileage of the 2026 Kwid, it’s unlikely to beat the Maruti S-Presso in terms of outright efficiency.
If you are someone that wants all the essential features, a better-looking exterior and the convenience of an automatic, going for the Renault Kwid Climber AMT variant will provide good value for your money.
