Maruti Suzuki S-Presso FAQs
If you want a small car that has a relatively good cabin space and a peppy engine, the Maruti S-Presso is for you. The S-Presso is the most affordable car in India and offers good fuel efficiency, saving costs in the long run.
The Maruti S-Presso is offered with an option between a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT, both of which are smooth and easy to use. Unlike typical AMTs, the S-Presso’s automatic gearbox does not have the typical AMT pause and is actually fun to drive. So the choice of gearbox boils down to your personal preference.
In city conditions, the S-Presso’s 180mm ground clearance and pliant suspension make for an easy driving experience. However, as speeds increase, the suspension's inherent stiffness is visible as the hatchback shows some vertical movements.
Although being a small car, the S-Presso’s cabin feels airy because of the high roof and large glass area. The front seats are comfortable for average-sized individuals, while people more than 6-feet may feel the headroom a bit intrusive. The rear seats, however, are very comfortable, even for taller passengers.
The Maruti S-Presso is a small SUV with a relatively roomy cabin and is well-equipped for its price. It is easy to drive and also offers a good fuel economy, while being the most affordable mass-market car in India.
The mid-spec LXi variant offers a lot of value. It gets features like manual AC, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, and idle start-stop. It does not get an infotainment system, which is offered only on the top-spec VXi (O) variant.
