Audi Q7 expert review
The Q7 features a wide grille with vertical chrome accents, intricate LED Matrix headlamps, and sportier bumpers with faux metal panels. New 20-inch wheels enhance its stance along with a 3000mm wheelbase and five-meter length. Rear updates include LED tail lamps and trapezoidal exhaust tips.

The front seats are comfortable and ideal for long drives. The middle row is spacious with adjustable seats. Rear features include four-zone climate control, sunblinds, and a panoramic sunroof. The third row suits kids on short trips but lacks AC. No spare wheel on offer sadly—only a puncture repair kit.

The Q7’s 3.0-litre, 340hp turbo-petrol V6 is smooth yet rapid, hitting 0-100kph in 5.6 seconds. The 8-speed automatic gearbox shifts effortlessly. It cruises at 100kph just above 1500rpm, with a raspy exhaust note near redline. Refined and powerful, it covers long distances with ease.
8
With a V6 turbo-petrol engine, the Q7 claims 11kpl but a large 85-litre tank allows it to have less stops between pumps. We also had the Q7 as a long termer, where it achieved 7kpl in the city and around 10kpl on the highway.
7
The Q7’s engine and gearbox work smoothly, but its adaptive air suspension in ‘Comfort’ mode feels too soft, causing noticeable movement and nose-dive under braking. Using ‘Individual’ mode with a firm suspension setting improves stability. The soft suspension excels on rough roads, while quattro ensures steady grip, though handling isn’t sporty.
8
Inside, the Q7 features a new dark open-pore wood panel on the dashboard and doors. The dual-screen setup offers crisp resolution but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren’t wireless.Features like ventilated seats and a comprehensive ADAS suite are also missing but it does include lane keep assist, Overall, while still premium, the Q7 misses some key modern features buyers now expect at this level.
7
The updated Q7 starts at Rs 88 lakh, with the top Technology trim priced at Rs 97 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While the top model competes with the more modern Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5, the lower-spec Q7 offers better value. It features a comfortable ride, spacious and high-quality interiors, and a smooth V6 engine. Ideal for those who prefer being chauffeured without hassle, the Q7 is a refined and comfortable cruiser.
