The Delhi government, which is on course to implement its 'odd-even' plan to reduce the pollution in the national capital, has released a list of vehicles that would be exempt from the scheme.

As a part of the blueprint laid out by the Delhi government, the 'odd-even' formula would not extend to two-wheelers, women-only vehicles, CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles as well as those of top politicians.

The restrictions will be in effect for a 15-day trial period starting January 1, 2016, whereby cars bearing registration numbers that end with an odd digit will be allowed to ply on odd-numbered dates while those ending with an even digit will be allowed to commute on an even-numbered date. During this period, the rule will be in force from 8am to 8pm on all days, except Sundays.

Moreover, motorists caught violating the policy in the city will be fined a sum of Rs 2,000, the Delhi government said in a statement.

CNG cars will be recognised by way of a display sticker on the windscreen of the car and the government has directed Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) to issue the same to CNG-certified cars starting today.

Here is a list of vehicles exempted from the car-rotation plan:

CNG (with display sticker), electric and hybrid vehicles

Vehicles driven by women with women passengers

Vehicles occupied/driven by handicapped persons

Ambulances and hearses, and vehicles belonging to the fire brigade, hospitals and prisons
