Bentley has revealed an updated version of its fastest production model, the Continental GT Speed.

As part of the update to its 331kph two-door luxury sportscar, Bentley has tweaked the 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 to develop 642hp as against the older car’s 635hp. Torque figures have also improved with the updated car now developing 840Nm, up by 20Nm. This increase in power and torque has shaved time off of the car’s 0-100kph sprint by 0.3 seconds, with the car clocking in 3.9 seconds as against the predecessor's 4.2 seconds.

The improved acceleration is as a result of the company optimising the boost so that the car develops peak torque nearly throughout the entire rev band.

Alongside the updated sportscar, the automaker also revealed a new Black Edition model of the GT Speed with the car featuring blackened exterior brightwork.

The Continental GT Speed Black Edition, offers buyers a high-gloss black finish to exterior brightwork, including window openings, as well as black 21-inch alloy wheels and red or black brake calipers.

Other colour accents are available for both the outside - for example, on the front splitter and side skirts - and inside, with contrast leather to match the external shades.

Bentley will start deliveries of the updated Continental GT Speed and the GT Speed Black Edition internationally in the next few months.
