Best of 2016: Top car and SUV comparisons

Every time a new car or a facelift is launched, we try to make it a point to compare it to its rivals. While a review is good enough to tell you just how good the car is in its own right it’s when we compare it to its rivals that we actually see how it stands in the segment. This year our comparisons have varied from popular contenders such as the Tata Tiago, Maruti Baleno and Honda City to luxury offerings such as the Mercedes GLS, Audi Q7 and the new Jaguar XF and Volvo S90.

The Baleno has been a big success for Maruti when it was launched last year and is the automaker’s bestselling model through its premium Nexa channels. Tata Tiago vs. Maruti Celerio diesel

Tata looked to thoroughly reinvent itself with the launch of the Tiago, its first all-new model since the launch of the Aria. The car also marked the launch of a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol and 1.05-litre three-cylinder diesel engines.
