Launched at an introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Hexa is Tata’s renewed attempt at a crossover to rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova. The Hexa is powered by the automaker’s 2.2-litre Varicor diesel engine, in two states of tune, paired with a choice of three gearbox options. The base variant gets a 150hp iteration of the motor paired with a five-speed manual, while higher variants are powered by a 156hp version which is offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. Additionally, the 156hp unit also gets the option of all-wheel drive on the top trim level.
The Hexa comes with SUV-typical styling elements like the black cladding that runs around the car and the well-chiselled angular details on the body. The car is additionally available with the choice of a six- or seven-seat layout, though the option is only available on the top XT trim.
