While the Mahindra Scorpio has been present in our market for quite some time now, it still is one of the most popular SUVs in India. According to figures released by the carmaker, sales for the Scorpio outstripped that of newer, popular models like the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster.
Across the last financial year, the Renault Duster saw sales to the tune of 46,700 units and the Ford EcoSport sold 45,000 units. Mahindra, on the other hand, registered 50,900 Scorpios sold across the last fiscal. The SUV also registered sales of 5,605 units in March, the highest in the segment.
So, figures reveal the Mahindra Scorpio is still one of the most popular sellers in the SUV segment, quite an impressive statistic for a model that has been present in our market for over a decade now. The carmaker is readying a facelift for the Scorpio that is due arrive sometime this year and this new model should only serve to further boost the SUV's fortunes here.
