Renault Bigster teaser

Renault’s sister brand Dacia has released a first set of teasers of the upcoming Bigster SUV. The new production spec Dacia Bigster will make its global debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, which is scheduled to take place between October 14-20. This new SUV is essentially a slightly longer iteration of the all-new Duster, and will come with three rows of seats.

  1. Bigster will come with multiple petrol engine options
  2. Will get terrain modes for off-road use
  3. Expected to come to India after new Duster

Dacia Bigster: what do the teasers reveal

The teaser shows the SUV from the back with most of its body panels hidden, but the name “Bigster” has been revealed in this teaser, which confirms that the production-spec SUV will be called as such.

This new SUV will sit on the top of Renault’s India line-up when it arrives here. It will be around 4.6 metres long, making it about 300mm longer than the two-row Duster, and will be aimed squarely at the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 and the Tata Safari. The three-row SUV will debut at Paris Motor Show with Dacia branding, but just like what we saw on the new Duster, there won’t be much difference except brand specific tweaks, like different logos, badging and grille on the Renault version.

The Bigster SUV will share many components with the Duster, including the CMF-B platform, some body panels, seats, dashboard, steering wheel, and mechanical bits. .

While it is not confirmed yet, we expect the Bigster’s engine options to mimic those of the Duster, which comes with either a 1.2-litre turbo petrol or a 1.6-litre turbo petrol. The Bigster will get 4x2 and 4x4 options, depending on the market. Just like the new Duster, it will get terrain modes that include Auto, Snow, Mud/Sand, off-road, and Eco.

Renault Bigster: India launch timeline

Renault has announced that the Duster will come to India by the second half of 2025 and we expect the Bigster to launch around six months after the Duster’s India entry. What’s more, both SUVs will also have their respective Nissan derivatives as well that will go on sale a few months after their Renault counterparts.
