Jaguar-Land Rover will show the production version of its new Range Rover Sport SVR at the Pebble Beach automotive weekend later this month. The event, which takes place across August 14-17 in the US, will mark the global debut of the new 542bhp range-topping SUV.

Created by JLR’s new Special Vehicle Operations division, the Range Rover Sport SVR last week took a claimed record at the Nürburgring for production SUVs with a time of 8m14s. The SVR is powered by the same 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine as found in Jaguar’s R-S models.

Also on display from the manufacturer will be the first prototypes of Jaguar’s lightweight E-type – of which just six will be put up for sale internationally. Marking 50 years since 12 original cars were sold, the cars will use chassis numbers which were assigned, but never used, in the 1960s. The models will be built to the exact specifications of the originals, including the use of an aluminium-block 3.8-litre straight six engine inside an aluminium body.

Jaguar will also show its new F-type Project 7 sports car in the US for the first time. Revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, the Project 7 has already sold out in the UK. The special edition's production is limited to just 250 units globally.
