The updated 2017 Range Rover Sport has been revealed.  The car gets added equipment and Jaguar Land Rover’s 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine. Named SD4 HSE, the Range Rover Sport with the Ingenium engine manages the 0-100kph dash in 8.0sec and is the new entry-level option in the RR Sport range. It replaces the 3.0-litre SDV6 as the entry-level model. Cars with this engine will be distinguished by a single twin-exhaust, as opposed to the standard twin-pipe exhaust of other models.

A supercharged, all-aluminium V6 3.0-litre petrol engine with 340hp has also been added to the range, sitting below the two 5.0-litre V8 variants. The 3.0-litre model has a claimed 0-60kph time of 7.1sec.

The new semi-autonomous features include Low Traction Launch, which helps pull away on low-grip surfaces by controlling the amount of torque the driver can apply, as well as towing, autonomous emergency braking, blindspot assistance and an intelligent speed limiter. When activated, the speed limiter uses traffic-sign recognition to read speed limit signs and prevent the car from exceeding the limit.

Another new safety feature in the Range Rover Sport is a driver condition monitor that analyses steering inputs, the time of day and journey time to detect signs of driver fatigue; if they are detected, it sends a warning to the driver.

The infotainment system gets a bigger 10-inch touchscreen display, with Land Rover’s InControl Touch Pro, and this has removed some buttons from the dashboard, replacing them with on-screen buttons. The system can learn drivers’ regular routes and send car data and walking directions to the driver’s smartphone.

The model updates for the Range Rover Sport follow the Range Rover upgrades announced recently, which also gets semi-autonomous tech and new engines.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus completely maxed out. 338kph on the speedo and hitting the 8500rpm limiter in 7th gear.

332.2kph! It’s a new record! And a GPS data acquisition system means there was no compromise on accuracy.
