Chennai-based Nissan Motor India, the subsidiary of Japanese Nissan Motor Co, has set an industry benchmark in parts availability with a fill rate of 96 percent in FY'15. A fill rate measures how many customer orders can be met from existing inventory at the dealerships. The new parts distribution centre inaugurated today is located in Pune, Maharashtra, aims to improve on that fill rate by speeding up parts delivery to dealers in the western and central regions of India. Dealers will receive parts they order within three to five days.

Announcing the opening of the facility, Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Nissan is focused on providing the best aftersales experience to our customers. We continue to invest with our new parts distribution centre in Pune to come closer to our customers.”

The facility in Chakan, Pune, which is spread across 60,278 sq ft, is manned by 70 people who will cater to 35 Nissan dealerships in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Daman & Diu.

Of Nissan India’s two other such units, one is in Chennai which supplies parts pan-India. The other facility is in Haryana and caters to Delhi and the National Capital Region, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
