Earlier in September, Nissan had announced the commencement of bookings for its legendary performance car, the GT-R, in India, with the launch expected during the festive season. Now the carmaker has announced that it will launch the 2017 GT-R on December 2, 2016.

A facelift of the car shown at the 2016 Auto Expo, the GT-R has undergone comprehensive cosmetic updates, with styling tweaks on the outside and a new interior as well. Also part of the pack are mechanical updates such as a revised six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, a more powerful 570hp engine, a modified suspension and a stiffer body structure.

Prices for the GT-R are expected to be in the region of Rs 2 crore, but, according to sources, this has done little to dampen the sentiment of buyers as the first batch of cars was sold out within days of the opening of bookings. The booking amount has been set at Rs 25 lakh.

The GT-R, however, will have limited availability, as the model will be sold only at a single dealership in Delhi.
