Mitsubishi Pajero Sport price drops by Rs 1 lakh

Mitsubishi Motors has announced a rather large drop in the prices of its renowned SUV, the Pajero Sport, which now starts at Rs 26.64 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Thanks to the implementation of GST, Mitsubishi has cut prices by Rs 1,04,740 across all the variants of the SUV.

This capable seven-seat SUV is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel mill that puts out 178hp at 4,000rpm. The 4x2 version comes with a five-speed automatic limited to 350Nm of peak torque, while the 4x4 five-speed manual variant produces 400Nm between 1800 and 3500rpm.

At the end of May, Mitsubishi had silently launched a new variant of the Pajero Sport called the Select Plus. Available with both transmissions, the Select Plus features additional equipment and a few changes inside and out. This variant is available only in dual-tone colours, comes with a blacked-out roof, pillars, alloy wheels and front grille, and black-finished body mouldings around the wheel-arch extensions, door and the front bumper guard. A garnish of chrome has been added on the door handles and on the wing mirror housings.

The additional equipment comes in the form of cruise control, LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) on the outer edge of the fog lamp housings, electric folding wing mirrors, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps (the standard Pajero Sport gets halogen projectors), a chiller box and DVD players mounted in the front seat headrests.

The Pajero Sport faces stiff competition in India from newer rivals that include the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Isuzu’s MU-X.
