The limited-run Mini Paddy Hopkirk edition has been launched at a price of Rs 41.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the 3-door Cooper S, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition pays tribute to the brand’s victory at the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally with Irish driver Patrick “Paddy” Hopkirk behind the wheel.

    • Available for booking only via Mini’s online retail platform
    • Powered by 192hp 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine

Mini Paddy Hopkirk edition: What’s different?

Priced at Rs 41.70 lakh, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition costs a significant Rs 6.6 lakh more than the standard 3-door Mini Cooper S. The added price however gets you additional kit over the standard hot hatchback aside from the edition-specific styling bits.

The Paddy Hopkirk Edition comes finished in a Chilli Red paint shade with a contrast white finished roof and black finished wing mirror caps. The bonnet features an off-set white racing stripe featuring Hopkirk’s signature and the characters ‘33EJB’ the number plate of the 1964 Monte Carlo rally winning Mini. The doors feature no. 37 stickers – the number of Hopkirk’s car. Round the back the tailgate too feature’s Hopkin’s signature. The chrome detailing too is darkened (option on the standard Cooper S) to add to the sporting look.

Inside, the cabin features black leatherette upholstery with a piano black trim along with featuring Hopkirk’s signature on the dash and on the illuminated scuff plates.

    Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition: Equipment

Compared to the standard Cooper S, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition gets added standard equipment in the form of a rear view camera, panoramic sunroof, key-less entry and the John Cooper Works steering wheel – paid options on the regular Mini. Other kit on offer includes auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, auto climate control, ambient lighting, stability control, ABS and more.

Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition: Engine and gearbox

As with the standard Cooper S, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition is powered by a familiar 192hp and 280Nm, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The unit sends power to the front wheels via Mini’s 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic Sport gearbox – an option on the standard Cooper S.

    Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition: Availability

The Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition is available for booking solely on Mini’s online retail platform. The Paddy Hopkirk Edition as with other Mini’s is a CBU import with only 15 units being offered in India.

Presently, Mini in India retails it’s iconic hatchback in its three-door and open-top Convertible body styles with both available in petrol Cooper S spec. Additionally, the three-door is also available in a more performance oriented John Cooper Works spec. Aside from the hatchback Mini’s India line-up also houses the larger Countryman crossover and the Clubman, both too in petrol Cooper S spec.
