Mini has revealed its first-ever commercial vehicle, the Mini Clubman-based Clubvan. Inspired by the 1960s Morris Mini van, the Clubvan will make its public debut in final production form at next week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The two-seater has a maximum 860 litres of load capacity, and a maximum payload capacity of 500kg. The cargo area stretches back 1150mm, and at its narrowest point behind the rear doors it is 1020mm wide. Cargo can be accessed through either the twin opening rear doors, or the rear door on the driver’s side. The load bay is completely flat, and rear load area features include multiple 12-volt sockets for charging electric items and six heavy-duty attachment loops to secure cargo.

Mini is known to be pitching the Clubvan at boutique businesses. A high level of customisation options are offered, along with standard equipment such as air-con, a DAB radio, multiple airbags and electric windows. High-quality materials have been used to trim the load area, and there is an anthracite roof liner. The side rear windows are body-coloured and reinforced, and the rear windows are tinted.

The Clubvan is offered with three 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines: 97bhp petrol for the One, a 120bhp petrol for the Cooper, and a 110bhp diesel for the Cooper D. All come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, and there is a six-speed automatic option for the Cooper D.

The dimensions of the Clubvan are identical to the 3961mm long, 1683mm wide and 1426mm high Clubman. It is the seventh member of the current global Mini line-up, but the first new-generation Mini to be classified as a commercial vehicle.
