Images of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz SL-class have surfaced on the internet prior to the car’s official debut which is scheduled to take place later this month at the LA motor show. The facelifted car gets styling changes on the exterior along with updates to the interior. However, the engine line-up is expected to remain unchanged.

The facelifted SL-class gets a new front bumper and LED headlamps, a revised grille, tweaked exhausts and a revised rear bumper. The Mercedes-AMG SL63 gets a new carbon-fibre trim, new-design alloy wheels and a new grille.

In the cabin, the car gets a larger free-standing infotainment system with the latest COMAND software, a touch-sensitive controller for the system and a new dashboard-mounted clock.

Mechanically, the facelifted SL-class is likely to continue with the same range of V6 and V8 engines as on the current model. This means that the facelifted car could be powered by a range of 3.0-litre V6, 4.6-litre and 5.5-litre V8s and 6.0-litre V12 engines. Power is expected to be channelled to the rear wheels through a new nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The facelifted SL-class will go on sale sometime next year. Mercedes will also reveal its new GLS-class (the facelifted GL-class) at the LA motor show.
