Mercedes EQA exterior, interior highlights

Mercedes is bringing the facelifted EQA, introduced last August, to India. It gets crossover-like styling, with the front grille panel featuring Mercedes’ signature star pattern and a full-width light bar at the front. Its rear design seems inspired from the EQB, while 19-inch 'AMG' alloys come as standard. There are seven colour options to choose from – Polar White, Cosmos Black, Mountain Grey, High-tech Silver, Spectral Blue, Patagonia Red Metallic and Mountain Grey MAGNO.

Inside, the electric SUV features a back-lit star pattern on the dashboard and door trim pieces, like the S-Class and EQS, in addition to rose gold (or Titanium grey pearl) highlights on the upholstery and air vents. The EQA features Cupertino leatherette upholstery as standard. It comes equipped with a touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a digital driver's display, heads-up display, augmented reality navigation, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Merc's latest OS, a 360-degree camera and a 710W 12-speaker Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos. In terms of safety kit, the EQA sports seven airbags, blind spot monitoring, and ADAS features like active brake assist.

Mercedes EQA powertrain, range

In India, the EQA is equipped with a 70.5kWh battery pack that powers a front-mounted electric motor generating 190hp and 385Nm of peak torque. The EV can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.6 seconds and has a top speed of 160kph.

The EQA offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 560km on a single charge. The battery supports up to 100kW DC fast charging (10-80 percent in 35 minutes). A standard 11kW AC charger will take 7 hours and 15 mins to fully charge the battery.

Mercedes EQA rivals

The Mercedes EQA competes directly with entry-level luxury electric SUVs such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge, C40 Recharge and BMW iX1. It also faces competition from Kia’s EV6.
