In a bid to further enhance the ownership experience for its vehicles Mercedes-Benz launched its ‘Advance Assurance Programme’, an enhanced extended warranty offering in partnership with Reliance General Insurance and Daimler financial services. This is the second aftersales initiative launched by Mercedes-Benz India this year after it announced a new line of service packages earlier in February.

Roland Folger, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said that “the objective is of creating a new benchmark in the luxury car industry, whereby the customer gets to enjoy service excellence, the lowest cost of ownership and complete peace of mind.”

Under the new ‘Advance Assurance Programme’, after completion of the standard three-year warranty, customers can extend the same for the fourth or up to the sixth year of ownership. Option costs for the fourth year ranges from Rs 33,000 for the A-class to Rs 1,98,000 for the S-class, which Mercedes says is cheaper than its earlier extended warranty offerings.

The programme will be available for vehicles across Mercedes’ range, both imported and locally assembled, and without a mileage cap for personal buyers. It can be availed for up to 36 months after the vehicle’s date of sale. The extended warranty is also transferable under this programme and will help owners fetch higher resale prices for their vehicles; also, there is an inbuilt exit clause for owners who want to opt out of this programme.
