The Brezza has been a runaway hit for Maruti alongside the Baleno hatchback. Available as a diesel only, the Brezza has quickly risen to overtake its rivals to become the best-selling model in the compact SUV segment. The SUV recently crossed the 50,000-unit sales milestone along with witnessing a hike in pricing a few month ago, which hasn’t proved to be much of a dampener for sales.

Maruti Vitara Brezza engine

The Vitara Bezza is available as a diesel only. The sole engine on offer is the tried-and-tested 1.3-litre unit in its 90hp DDiS200 state of tune. Gearbox duties are solely handled by a five-speed manual unit. Maruti is currently readying two petrol motors for India – a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine and a larger 1.5-litre petrol motor. Maruti could offer one of the two engines in the Vitara Brezza to increase its appeal.

Maruti Vitara Brezza features

The Vitara Brezza in its top trims get quite a few bells and whistles such as rain-sensing wipers, projector headlamps, parking camera, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, cruise control and auto climate control. The top trim also gets dual-tone paint schemes. In terms of safety, a driver airbag is standard on lower variants with the additional option available to add a passenger airbag and ABS. Top variants get ABS and dual airbags as standard. Maruti also offers a large list of add-on accessories such as rear seat entertainment displays, subwoofer, different seat covers, choice of alloy wheels etc.
