Images of a Jeep SUV concept have leaked online, ahead of the new model’s expected debut at the upcoming Shanghai motor show in the coming weeks.

The K8 concept likely previews a future SUV for the Chinese markets from the American SUV maker, though the production SUV could head to other global markets as well. In terms of design, the SUV features upright styling, with Jeep’s trademark grille flanked by sleek headlamps. The bumper is rather plain in design and sports a rectangular, wide air dam with trim inserts and LED lamps on the corner.

At the back, the concept features a wrap-around rear windscreen, sleek tail-lamps housed within a prominent crease running across the tailgate, a high loading lip and a prominent rear bumper. The image also revealed the SUV to have underbody cladding along the lower bumper and doors.

There were little details about the SUV’s cabin or powertrain, however, it is reported to be a seven-seat SUV and is likely to feature an electrified powertrain under the hood.

For India, Jeep is set to showcase the all-new Compass SUV for the first time to the Indian media, with a launch set to follow soon. The Compass is set to be Jeep’s third SUV in the market, following the launch of its flagship Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler last year.
