Tata Indigo, Indica emax CNG launched

Tata launches two new CNG-equipped models, with prices starting at Rs 3.99 lakh for the Indica emax and Rs 4.99 lakh for the Indigo emax.

Tata Motors has launched two new CNG models, the Indigo emax and Indica emax. These two models have been introduced in six markets across India – Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura.

Tata claims a mileage figure of 23.7km/kg for the Indica emax and 24.6km/kg for the Indigo emax.

Announcing the launch, Ankush Arora, senior vice president, passenger vehicle business unit (Commercial), Tata Motors, said, “CNG is gaining momentum in the Indian automobile market and we are happy to announce the expansion of our CNG portfolio. The introduction of the new variants comes as an essential step that underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player. At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating what our customers need and blending it with the best-in-class technology and design engineering. Besides offering exciting new features, these cars will be backed by an engaging purchase experience and advanced technology to be an economic, friendly choice for consumers. This helps us arrive at an end product that suits the inherent automotive needs of our customers in a holistic way.”

The Tata Indigo emax starts at Rs 4.99 lakh for the GLS trim, going up to Rs 5.27 lakh for the top-spec GLX trim. Its petrol-CNG engine churns out 64.1bhp at 5000rpm. Tata claims the Indigo emax has a range of up to 230km in CNG mode and over 650km in petrol mode.

The Indica emax comes with a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh for the GLS trim, while the GLX trim costs Rs 4.26 lakh. Tata claims a similar 230km range in CNG mode and over 600km in petrol mode.

All price are ex-showroom, Delhi.
