Hyundai motor India has commenced mass-production of its upcoming Venue SUV at its plant in Tamil Nadu. The Hyundai Venue will see a market launch on May 21, 2019 and will be the brand’s smallest SUV to be sold in India.

The first unit of the Venue SUV rolled out at Chennai today – a day that also marks the brand’s 23rd Foundation Day in India – and is the first-ever Venue unit produced, globally. Hyundai will also start selling the Venue SUV in the North American market soon.

The Venue will be available in four engine-gearbox combinations in India, starting from the Venue E variant and going up to the top-spec Venue SX (O) trim. The Venue will sit below the popular Hyundai Creta in Hyundai’s India line-up and will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV300, the Ford EcoSport, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Tata Nexon.

Bookings for the Venue are currently in progress, with the booking amount set at Rs 21,000.
