Hyundai has voluntarily issued a recall of over 2,000 units of the first-generation Santa Fe SUVs sold in India.

According to Hyundai, units that were manufactured between June 26, 2011 and September 26, 2013 had a faulty stop lamp switch, and have been recalled for replacement. A total of 2,437 units were manufactured by Hyundai during this period.

Hyundai will contact owners of the affected Santa Fe SUVs in a phased manner, in order to carry out the replacement of the part.

Hyundai had launched the first-generation Santa Fe SUV in India in 2010. This model was then replaced by the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV earlier this year.
