The Hyundai i20 scooped up the top award at the Bloomberg TV Autocar India Awards 2015 held at Taj Lands End in Mumbai on January 9, 2015. Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for road transport and highways was the chief guest at the event. The winner of the Car of the Year award not only impressed the critical and unforgiving eyes of the jury, it also won the heart and appreciation of the Bloomberg TV audience who voted for it to pick up the trophy of the Viewer's Choice Award too.  The Hyundai i20 also swept up the Hatchback of the Year award to complete a hat-trick.

Meanwhile on the motorcycle front, the 150cc Suzuki Gixxer overtook furious competition to pick up the Bike of the Year award.

The Bloomberg TV Autocar India Awards are highly prized by both the car manufacturers and car-buying public alike. This year, the awards were presented in 20 categories with the best of the best winning the Bike of the Year and Car of the Year prizes.

These awards continue a tradition of recognising excellence that dates back to 2002. It is the culmination of weeks of behind-the-scenes work. The jury scrutinised reams of facts, figures and data generated by Autocar India’s satellite-based road testing equipment. They were then put through a rigorous series of tests to evaluate various parameters. And then, auditors from PWC, who ensured a watertight methodology both in terms of eligibility and judging criteria, tabulated the score sheets to declare the final list of winners.

This year, the Jaguar F-Type, Audi A3, Lamborghini Huracan and Honda City were amongst those who won their place under the spotlight. For a full list of winners, see below.
