Honda has showcased its Design C 001 concept, a new design study, at the 2017 Qingdao Auto Show. The concept previews a four-door coupe with slim LED headlamps, a sleek hood, a large Honda logo on the nose and black trim that starts from the headlamps and outlines the front bumper.

The lack of a radiator grille suggests the concept may be powered by electricity rather than an internal combustion engine.

The coupe-like roof line blends into the boot quite cleanly, though the length of the boot suggests that the rear windscreen would also open along with the boot, along the lines of the Skoda Octavia’s notchback style boot.

At the rear, the Design C 001 has large crescent-shaped LED tail-lamps that have been inspired by the current-gen Honda Civic, though in an obviously exaggerated manner.

While the concept is not expected to reach production and it is unlikely that it previews a model for global markets, there is the potential to incorporate elements of this design study into Honda’s future models for the Chinese market.
