Honda Cars India has been on quite a roll of late. It posted a massive 83 percent growth last financial year and witnessed a whopping 75 percent year-on-year growth in June. Now, it has achieved yet another milestone, clocking one lakh sales for the Amaze sedan. The Honda Amaze sedan was launched in April 2013 and having crossed the one lakh unit mark in just 16 months, it is the fastest to reach the landmark figure in Honda's history in India.
The Honda Amaze compact sedan was the car with which the manufacturer entered the diesel market here. The Amaze was the first car to receive Honda's 1.5-litre diesel motor, which has since found its place in the new City sedan and the recently launched Mobilio MPV. The petrol Amaze is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor.
Honda's city sedan has also seen strong sales notching over 53,000 units since its launch in January and the carmaker is positive about the just-arrived Mobilio as well. There's also the much anticipated all-new Jazz hatchback coming up. Going ahead, the manufacturer plans to increase the number of its dealerships to 230 across 150 Indian cities by the end of this financial year.
