The Honda Mobilio MPV that was displayed by the Japanese carmaker at the Auto Expo 2014 will go into production in June this year.

Industry sources confirmed to our sister publication Autocar Professional that the Mobilio MPV will be made at Honda Cars India’s Greater Noida plant.

Honda Cars India had already announced earlier that the Honda Mobilio MPV, in both petrol and diesel trims, will be one of the new models to be launched this year. The other new model – the new Jazz (codename 2WS) – that is slated for a rollout this year as well goes into production in July. This hatchback will be made in the carmaker’s new Tapukara plant in Rajasthan.

The earlier Jazz was discontinued by Honda in February 2013 owing to poor sales. The 1.2-litre petrol Jazz was produced in the company’s Greater Noida plant which has a production capacity of 1,20,000 units per annum.
