The Hyundai Grand i10, launched earlier this year, has helped Hyundai Motor India tot up cumulative sales of 49,681 units for the month of November 2013. Domestic sales accounted for 33,501 units, down 3.6 percent from October 2012 while exports stood at 16,180 units.
The Grand i10, launched in early September 2013, has been the best news for the Korean carmaker. The car sold 11,519 units in October and 11,007 units in November, easily making it into the top 10.
Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president, sales and marketing, HMIL, said: “At Hyundai the strong focus on channel efficiency and the addition of the successful new model Grand with sales of 11,007 units along with the strong product portfolio has increased the cumulative market share of Hyundai cars to an all-time high in a declining industry. After the festival season, the market has been sluggish due to unfavorable macro-economic factors and the low market sentiments resulting lower customer enquiries.”
