Hyundai’s new Grand i10 hatchback is confirmed for a September 3 launch in India. Based on the next-generation i10, which will make its debut at the Frankfurt motor show next month, the Grand i10 will be positioned between the current i10 and the i20.

The car will be offered with two engine options, a 1.1-litre, three cylinder U2 VGT diesel motor that develops an estimated 70bhp, and the familiar 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine with a four-speed automatic as an option.

The Grand i10 will be available in four trims – Magna, Sports, Asta and Asta (O).

We expect the hatchback to come with a starting price of Rs 4 lakh for the petrol variant, and Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the diesel variant.
