Mahindra seems all set to launch the facelifted version of its Genio pick-up truck soon. Images of the facelifted Genio have surfaced on the internet which reveal a completely revised front end.

The front-end styling bears no resemblance to the Xylo's, the car on which it is based. It gets a new front bumper, high-set fog lamps and a redesigned grille with silver inserts, as well as new rectangular headlamps. The bonnet is also new and sits flatter than the slanting unit on the current model. Overall, the facelifted Genio’s styling is now more SUV-ish. The image also seems to indicate the possibility of a new exterior colour option – blue. There are no details about the cabin.

Like the current Genio, the facelift is expected to be powered by the same 2.5-litre mDI CRDe diesel engine developing 74bhp and 22.43kgm of torque sending power to the rear wheels. Mahindra, however, could introduce its Micro-Hybrid technology (engine start/stop system) in the facelifted car.

When launched, the facelifted Mahindra Genio is expected to be available in both single and double-cab variants like the current model.
