Ford has announced an extended warranty scheme for the Figo hatchback and the Ford Ecosport. The warranty for both the cars can now be extended to a fifth year (or 1,00,000km). The maximum warranty offered previously was only up to four years or 1,00,000km.
Mechanical and electrical failures, along with labour charges, are covered under the warranty, while regular maintenance services, worn and torn components, and accident repairs are not considered to be a part of it. Catch is, customers need to extend the warranty before the standard warranty period of two years or 1,00,000km runs out. Extended warranty is also transferrable.
The other cars in Ford’s portfolio – the Classic, Fiesta and Endeavour – are not a part of this scheme and can only be had with a four year extended warranty, while the cap on distance is the same 1,00,000km.
