A Bentley Continental GT tuned to make over 3000bhp will compete in the FIA European Drag Racing Championship in UK from May 23-26th.
The Bentley Continental GT, powered by a 3082bhp 10.2-litre twin-turbocharged Chevrolet-sourced V8 engine, has five times the power of the most powerful standard Continental GT variant, and three times the power of the Bugatti Veyron.
The makers of the car have said that the modification cost about 250,000 pounds (Rs 2.45 crore approximately), and took around eight months to build. Key modifications on the car, apart from the engine, includes lightweight interior made from carbonfibre, and a strengthened steel body shell.
The heavily-modified Bentley Continental GT will be driven by Steve Neimantas, a 48-year old watch repairer from Yorkshire. The Bentley will take part in the championship's Street Eliminator class, which only includes vehicles that are road legal.
