The Mercedes-AMG C63 S Edition 1 has been revealed. It will be showcased at next week’s Paris motor show.
The images reveal the 503bhp twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 powered C63 S Edition 1 in definitive production form for the first time. The limited edition version of the new second-generation C63 will be sold internationally in both sedan and estate body styles.
In line with the previous Edition 1 models, the C63 S Edition 1 receives a series of subtle external styling changes that help differentiate it from the standard C63 S. It gets red accents within the radiator grille and on the mirror housings, special 19-inch wheels, matt grey side strips within the lower reaches of the doors and rear bumper as well as a carbonfibre boot lid spoiler.
Inside, the Edition 1 boasts of hard shell AMG Performance seats up front, Nappa leather upholstery with red diamond pattern stitching, a flat bottom AMG steering wheel, red seat belts, AMG floor mats with red piping and various carbonfibre trim elements.
The limited-edition car receives the same variant of AMG’s new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 direct injection petrol engine used by the standard C63 S. The unit produces 503bhp and 71.3kgm of torque, providing it with 23bhp and 10.2kgm more than the naturally aspirated 6.2-litre multi-point injection V8 used by the first generation C63 AMG with the optional Performance Package. It is also 3bhp and 9.12kgm more than the previous limited edition C63 Edition 507.
Mercedes-AMG hasn’t revealed any performance claims for the C63 S Edition 1 just yet, although it is expected to boast the same 0-100kph acceleration time and top speed as the standard C63 S, which manages 4.0 seconds and 250kph respectively in sedan form.
The model will make its Paris debut alongside the recently revealed AMG GT, which will also be shown in Edition 1 guise.
