BMW India organised its xDrive driving event at the DLF Emporio Mall in Delhi over the past weekend to showcase the abilities of its X range of SUVs. A small course was constructed within the mall compound and included an ‘X’ ramp and a couple of articulation humps, along with a line-up of BMW X3s, X5s and X6s.

Negotiating the ‘X’ ramp included first climbing up the ramp that slowly falls forwards due to the weight of the SUV. So what first starts as a climb up ends in the vehicle’s nose pointing down. One has to be careful not to drive too far ahead too quickly, as there’s always the risk of falling off the ramp.

Other cleverly placed ramps had the car tilting over with two wheels in the air, but the four-wheel drive was smart enough to send power to the wheels which had most traction. And while the SUVs were never stretched to the limit, it was nonetheless an interesting display of the SUVs’ abilities.
