BMW had updated the 3-series sedan earlier in the year and has now shifted its focus to the 3-series GT with a facelift, all set to launch in India. Styling changes to the updated car are minor with revised bumpers, light clusters and tweaks inside the cabin.

BMW 3-series GT engines
The updated 3-series GT is expected to continue using the current 190hp 2.0-litre diesel paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard. BMW could also introduce a petrol engine version with a likely option being the 184hp, 2.0 engine from the 320i sedan.

BMW 3-series GT equipment
Most of the equipment is expected to be carried over unchanged from the current model though BMW could offer different trim lines. The facelift could see updates to its iDrive system with an upgraded navigation system. Also expected is the introduction of LED headlamps as standard fitment. The automaker could also offer more upholstery options than currently available.

BMW 3-series GT price, rivals
Just like the current 3GT, the updated model will plug the gap between the 3- and 5-series sedans in terms of size and price. The 3GT has no direct rivals but can be seen as a spacious alternative to models like the new Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-class and the Jaguar XE.

BMW 3-series GT launch
The updated 3-series GT is set to launch on October 19, 2016.
