2024 Women’s World Car of the Year category winners announced

2024 Women’s World Car of the Year winners

The winners for the Women’s World Car of the Year (WWCOTY) for five individual categories for the passenger vehicle segment have been announced for this year. Of these five winners, one will be crowned as the Best Car of the Year, the results for which are set to be announced on March 8 on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

  3. Jury consisted 75 female journalists from 52 countries

2024 Women’s World Car of the Year winners

This was the 14th edition of the WWCOTY, which had five individual category awards for the passenger vehicle segment: Family Car, Large Car, SUV, Exclusive Car and 4x4 & Pick-up. Here’s who bagged the top honours in each category:

Notably, one of these models – the Aston Martin DB12 – is already on sale in India and two others – the Kia EV9 and BMW 5 Series – are headed to our shores this year.

2023 Women’s World Car of the Year: judgement criteria

In its official statement, WWCOTY group states that the cars were tested on various parameters, such as safety, driving, comfort, technology, design, efficiency, impact on the environment and value for money. A total of 62 candidates were in the running to win one of the WWCOTY categories. All of them must meet the requirement of having been launched in at least two continents between January 1 and December 31, 2023.

2023 Women’s World Car of the Year: the jury

As the name suggests, the Women’s World Car of the Year jury comprises exclusively a group of female motoring journalists. This year, 75 women from 52 countries on five continents were part of the team, with Renuka Kirpalani, consulting editor (Video), Autocar India, being one of the eminent jurors.
