Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has temporarily halted production on certain vehicle manufacturing lines at its Solihull facility in the UK “due to a part supply constraint from a supplier,” Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited said in a filing with the stock exchanges. The Solihull plant is one of JLR’s key manufacturing sites and plays a central role in producing models such as the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the upcoming all-electric Range Rover.

This is the second recent production halt at JLR’s Solihull plant. The previous shutdown took place in September after a cyberattack forced the company to cease operations across all its manufacturing facilities, including Solihull, for six weeks. The disruption reportedly cost the company about GBP 5 million (around Rs 62.79 crore) per day.
This time, however, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited “does not anticipate any material impact on its overall operations or financial performance”, it noted in the filing. According to a Reuters report, the production pause is expected to last less than two weeks, as it overlaps with a pre-scheduled five-day shutdown for the Easter holidays.
The company also said it has been in constant communication with the relevant supplier and that all discussions around the supply chain issues were part of routine business operations. Hence, employees will continue to attend the site as usual during the temporary pause.
