While Honda is yet to reveal the India-spec ZR-V’s powertrain details, it is expected to get the same 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine as the international-spec model, producing 180hp and 240Nm, mated to an e-CVT. The ZR-V sold overseas has a claimed 100kph time of under 8 seconds, depending on the variant, and an electronically limited top speed of 172kph.

The teaser shows L-shaped LED DRLs, flush-type roof rails and a sunroof

The teaser reveals the front silhouette, showcasing sharp LED headlights with L-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), a sculpted bonnet and a Honda logo beneath it. Keen-eyed viewers can also spot flush-type roof rails and a sunroof, likely the same panoramic unit as the one in the international-spec model.

Although the alloy-wheel size for the India-spec model is unknown, it could be between 17 and 19 inches, like the international model. The ZR-V features a clean side profile, with gloss-black cladding on the wheel arches and lower part of the doors for contrast. The rear has wraparound LED tail-lights and a black bumper, with a chrome strip spanning the two exhaust outlets on both sides for a sporty look.

Honda will bring the ZR-V to India as a CBU (completely built unit) model. Its dimensions will be identical to those of the international model, which are as follows:

Inside, Honda is likely to offer the ZR-V with a dual-tone theme. In the international model, the dashboard features a layered design, divided by a patterned strip in the centre, like in the current Accord. Drive selector buttons on the centre console give it a minimalist look. As for screens, it gets a 9-inch infotainment system and a 10.2-inch digital driver’s display.

Other expected features include powered front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. The safety suite will likely comprise 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The Honda ZR-V Hybrid is expected to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) as a rival to premium 5-seater SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq Lounge
