The Maruti Suzuki Swift recently received a facelift in India. The mid-lifecycle update brought with it a few cosmetic tweaks, dual-tone colour options, a new petrol engine and some additional features as well. With prices starting from Rs 5.73 lakh, the Swift now costs between Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,000 more than the outgoing car. We take a look at what you get in each variant.

2021 Maruti Swift engine
As mentioned above the biggest change to the Swift is the new 1.2-litre petrol engine under the bonnet. The new DualJet unit, which was introduced in the Dzire last year is 7hp up over the outgoing 83hp petrol engine though torque remains the same at 113Nm. Gearbox options remain unchanged with a standard 5-speed manual and the option of a 5-speed AMT unit. The new unit also brings with it engine start-stop technology which makes the new car more efficient than the one it replaces.
The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift goes up against the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios (Rs 5.19-7.87 lakh^) and the Ford Figo (Rs 5.64-7.09 lakh^). Also sitting within a similar price bracket is the Renault Triber (Rs 5.20-7.50 lakh), which offers the additional flexibility of three rows of seats.
