VLF, or Velocifero, is an Italian-origin brand that manufactures in China and is sold in India by Kolhapur-based Motohaus. The Mobster is the company’s latest model here, joining the VLF Tennis electric scooter.

  1. Powered by a 125cc liquid-cooled engine
  2. Features dual-channel ABS and traction control
  3. Equipped with 5-inch TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity

VLF Mobster: Everything you need to know

Smallest-capacity liquid-cooled scooter in India.

The Mobster 135 uses a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 12.1hp at 8,250rpm and 11.7Nm at 6,500rpm. This makes it the smallest-capacity scooter in India with liquid cooling, a feature otherwise seen on larger rivals like the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. VLF claims a top speed of 100kph, which is in line with its performance figures.

In terms of design, the Mobster carries traces of Italjet-inspired styling, most notably with the low-mounted headlights. The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels shod with 120/70 (front) and 130/70 (rear) section tyres. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers, while braking hardware comprises a 230mm front disc and 220mm rear disc. The scooter has a kerb weight of 122kg, a seat height of 797mm (quite tall in the scooter realm), and a ground clearance of 155mm.

The Mobster packs dual-channel ABS (very rarely seen on scooters in India) and traction control, both switchable. Other key features include a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless ignition, and a dashcam as an optional accessory.

VLF Mobster price

Introductory price for first 2,500 customers.

The VLF Mobster has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 1.30 lakh, valid for the first 2,500 customers. Prices after this period have not yet been confirmed.

This places the Mobster in the same realm as the higher-capacity Yamaha Aerox 155 (Rs 1.38 lakh) and Hero Xoom 160 (Rs 1.37 lakh), while positioning it well above the TVS Ntorq 150 (from Rs 1.09 lakh). While more expensive than some rivals, the Mobster offers unique features for the 110-125cc scooter segment, making it a distinctive option for buyers looking for something more unique.

Motohaus currently operates a modest network of 12 dealerships across India, with plans to add 10 more in the near future. However, buyers should note that it remains an unproven brand in our market, and the limited sales and service footprint is a factor worth keeping in mind.

All prices are ex-showroom.
