2026 Kawasaki Z900RS updates

Now gets electronic throttle valves and IMU-based rider aids

For 2026, the Z900RS retains its 948cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine, but Kawasaki has added electronic throttle valves and revised gear ratios across all gears. Peak output figures are now produced higher in the rev range with 116hp at 9,300rpm and 98Nm at 7,700rpm, compared to 111hp at 8,500rpm and 98.5Nm at 6,500rpm on the previous model.

Kawasaki also mentions that the megaphone-style exhaust has been reworked, with reshaped header pipes that should contribute to a refined sound.

Standard equipment now includes an IMU-based electronics suite featuring Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), a bi-directional Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), and cruise control. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm USD fork and a rear monoshock, while braking hardware comprises 300mm twin discs at the front and a 250mm disc at the rear. The SE variant adds Brembo front calipers, steel-braided brake lines, and an Öhlins S46 rear shock.

The standard Z900RS is available in a Candy Tone Red colour scheme reminiscent of the 1975 Kawasaki Z1B, while the SE variant comes finished in Metallic Spark Black with an orange fuel tank. The 2026 Z900RS has been unveiled for the European market, with pricing yet to be announced.
