European type-approval documents have revealed that KTM is working on a limited-edition 1390 Super Duke RR – a higher-spec version of the already potent 1390 Super Duke R. The RR model follows the formula established by the earlier 1290 Super Duke RR, which was produced in limited runs of 500 units.

  1. 1,350 V-twin unchanged, makes 190hp and 145Nm
  2. Weight reduced by around 8.5kg
  3. Gets Akrapovic titanium exhaust as standard

KTM 1390 Super Duke RR: Everything we know so far

The model is expected to debut sometime in 2026

Like with previous RR variants, the primary focus of this iteration appears to be weight reduction. According to the type-approval documents, the 1390 Super Duke RR tips the scales at 204kg fully fuelled – around 8.5kg lighter than the standard bike’s 212.5kg kerb weight. Sources suggest this has been achieved through the use of an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, carbon fibre components and a lighter lithium-ion battery.

The documents also indicate that the RR will feature a 17mm wider handlebar, possibly to accommodate lever guards, as seen previously on the 1290 Super Duke RR. Other expected upgrades include higher-spec WP Apex Pro suspension, although this has not yet been officially confirmed.

No mechanical changes are suggested, and the 1,350cc V-twin engine is expected to carry over unchanged, producing the same 190hp and 145Nm as the standard model. According to CycleWorld, the bike may have originally been slated for an EICMA 2025 debut, but KTM’s recent financial turbulence likely delayed those plans.

At present, there is no official confirmation regarding launch timelines. However, with Bajaj acquiring KTM, the renewed investment could help the Austrian marque get its product plans back on track. Pricing and availability remain unconfirmed, but the 1390 Super Duke RR is expected to command a significant premium over the standard model. For reference, the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke R is currently listed on the KTM India website at Rs 22.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), although this price has not been updated following the GST 2.0 revision.
