When the TVS Apache RR 310 debuted, it stood to reason that the company would also introduce a naked bike based on the same platform. Now, the first spy shots of this naked bike have emerged and it looks like it will debut an all-new design.

The BMW/TVS co-developed 312cc engine platform has spawned three bikes for the Bavarian marque, and only one for the Indian manufacturer. The BMW G 310 RR is basically a rebadged TVS Apache RR 310, with a few minor differences. However, the TVS RR 310-based naked bike looks to be radically different from the BMW G 310 R.

For starters, the design of the bike is very edgy and it has a number of new components including all-new boxy 8-spoke alloy wheels, tank extensions with faux air intakes, and even a small fairing piece on the side. The seat unit looks to be shared with its faired sibling with a prominent step-up for the passenger perch clearly visible.

What is visibly shared with the RR 310 are the Michelin Road 5 tyres and the suspension componentry. Once launched, the company could even offer the BTO kit on the naked bike, considering a lot of the parts will be the same as the Apache RR 310.

However, this test mule that has been spied, doesn’t seem to be the production-spec one because the rear subframe’s cowling appears to be carbon fibre (not found on bikes in this price range), and the exhaust muffler is just a short pipe sans any catalyst. There are also no road-legal necessities like indicators, a number plate, or a saree guard visible.

Considering the fact that the Apache RR 310 has been on sale for more than 5 years now and has gone through multiple revisions in that time, the platform seems ripe to spawn another model. When this naked bike does launch in India, its primary rivals will include the likes of the Triumph Speed 400, BMW G 310 R, and the next-gen KTM 390 Duke.
