The Burgman is often credited with starting the pseudo-maxi scooter category in India
A short video that has surfaced online confirms that the updated Suzuki Burgman will feature the split-headlight setup that was teased earlier. The footage also reveals the tail-light design, which follows a similar split theme, with a horizontal light element that remains illuminated, flanked by twin vertical brake lights.
The updated Burgman is likely to receive powertrain and chassis revisions similar to those seen on the new-generation Suzuki Access. One indication of this is the different exhaust muffler seen on the test mule, which closely resembles the unit on the Access.
For reference, the latest Access received a new chassis, developed to address packaging constraints related to exhaust routing. It also got an updated engine; while the bore and stroke figures remained unchanged, key internal components such as the camshaft, crankshaft and crankcase were revised. Similar updates could be expected on the Burgman, albeit with tweaks specific to its positioning.
The new generation of the Burgman will be launched today in the evening.
