Simple Energy Simple One launch on August 15; to cost around Rs 1.1 lakh

Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up Simple Energy will launch its first e-scooter, the Simple One, on August 15. The e-scooter will be available in phased-manner, starting with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, followed by other cities in the coming months.

    • The scooter is expected to have a 4.8kWh battery

    • It will feature Bluetooth connectivity and navigation

The Simple Energy electric scooter is claimed to have a 240km range in Eco mode. It has a mid-drive motor, a removable battery, a claimed 0-50kph time of 3.6sec, and a top speed of 100kph. The e-scooter is also expected to come with features such as navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. While the exact pricing has not yet been announced, the e-scooter is expected to be in the range of Rs 1.10-1.20 lakh.

The e-scooter is said to be completely designed using French technology major, Dassault Systemes’ development platform. As part of its production plans, the company has finalised its first phase of the factory in Whitefield, which will have a production capacity of 50,000 units.

While the name Simple One is also the first name trademarked by the company, it is also working simultaneously on a commercial offering targeted for the last-mile delivery segment.

Suhas Rajkumar, founder and CEO, Simple Energy said, “We are elated to announce the name of the first electric vehicle by Simple Energy. Although it was known as Mark2, the name Simple One will give the right essence from the brand and product perspective. The team is now gearing up for the launch.”
