Royal Enfield seems to be gearing up to launch a gaggle of motorcycles based upon the tried and tested 650cc platform, which will also underpin the soon-to-be-revealed Super Meteor 650. The latest to join this bandwagon is a 650cc scrambler that was recently spied testing in India. These latest spy pictures, however, reveal a few key changes to what was seen on the previous test mule.

  • Flat-tracker style round side panels make a comeback

  • Rear tail-lamp and indicators borrowed from Hunter 350

  • Features non-adjustable USD fork and twin rear shocks

Royal Enfield 650cc scrambler: details

Royal Enfield’s 650cc scrambler, when it was spotted overseas, sported flat-tracker style side panels, but these were not on the bike that was spotted for the first time on our shores. Now, they have made a comeback, although the overall finish still looks quite rough, indicating that this particular Royal Enfield is still some time away.

Its tail-lamp, indicators, instrument cluster and switches, all seem to be borrowed from the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The bike appears to be running on block-pattern tyres that resemble the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR very closely in terms of the tread pattern. The non-adjustable USD fork and twin shocks continue to be the same, as do the side-slung exhaust, which is unique to this bike.
