A group of 55 Royal Enfield motorcyclists have embarked on a journey, riding through many lands, to arrive at their destination in Leh. The journey was flagged off  from India Gate, New Delhi, on 10 July, 2015 by Rudratej Singh, president, Royal Enfield.

This Odyssey will take the 55 riders through three mountain ranges, which will include six motorable passes, covering a total distance of more than 2,700km.

The motorcyclists will ride through Parwanoo, a town divided by the Shivalik range, and move on to Narkanda in the Shimla district, where they will be at an altitude of 8,599ft. The next stop will be the Jispa village, about 10,500ft above sea level, and the temperature at night drops to about two degrees Celsius. Riders will also pass through Sarchu or Sir Bhum Chun, a major halt the Himalayas with tenting accommodation. The riders will pass through Rumtse and Hunder through Wari La and finally reach Khardung-La high up at 18,380ft on 20 July, 2015.

On their way, they will pass through Kalpa and Kaza, considered to be two of the toughest motorable terrains in the world.

Royal Enfield for the first time has allowed pillion riders to be part of the Himalayan Odyssey. Rudratej Singh said that the company's motorcycles are most preferred to take on this ultimate test, due to the durability offered by the bike.
