Pankaj Dubey has resigned from his role as Managing Director and Country Head of Polaris India. Dubey was the first employee of the company and he even helped setup the Indian subsidiary of the American brand about ten years ago. Dubey tells us that he is taking some time for himself and his family, but will take up a new role in another auto firm soon after the lockdown is lifted. He says he will reveal more information in due course.

This announcement comes as a bit of a surprise, especially considering we had recently interviewed him. Polaris is famous for selling the Indian brand of motorcycles, as well as a range of ATVs and Side-by-Sides under the Polaris brand name. Dubey was also the CEO and Director of the Eicher Polaris joint venture, which launched the innovative Multix utility vehicle. The Eicher Polaris business was shut down in 2018.

Pankaj Dubey’s last day with Polaris will be April 30, 2020. He is an industry veteran with prior experience in a number of two-wheeler firms, including Yamaha and what is now known as Hero MotoCorp. We wish him well in his future endeavours.
